Join Gillian Arnold for an inspiring and creative morning exploring design composition and fabric printing in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

Working from hundreds of beautifully curated, nature inspired vintage motifs, you will create your own unique pattern before printing it onto a luxurious velvet cushion cover. By the end of the session, you will leave with a professionally finished cushion that is entirely your own creation.

Gillian will guide you step by step, sharing expert insight into composition, layout and printing techniques while encouraging your individual style. Whether you are completely new to design or already confident with craft, this workshop is accessible, enjoyable and creatively rewarding.

You will learn how to:

• Build a balanced and visually striking design
• Confidently compose a repeat or placement layout
• Work with detailed vintage botanical motifs
• Print your design onto soft velvet fabric
• Finish your cushion cover to a professional standard

Throughout the morning, Gillian shares her experience as a designer and printmaker, offering insight into the thinking behind surface pattern design and professional fabric printing.

All materials are provided, including your velvet cushion cover and full access to the extensive motif library. The workshop is suitable for all abilities, from complete beginners to experienced makers.

Duck feather cushion pads are available to purchase on the day, subject to availability.

All of our workshops are held in the workshop studio upstairs at From Loft to Loved, 11 The Square, Sedgefield TS21 2BN.

Cancellation Policy

Payment for workshops must be made in full at the time of booking. If you need to cancel your booking for any reason please contact us as soon as possible, cancellation fees apply:

Over 21 days before the workshop date - full refund given or the opportunity to book another date
Between 7 and 21 days before the workshop date – no refund given, however you will have the opportunity to book another date
Less than 7 days before the workshop date - no refund given and no opportunity to book another date

Any refund due will be paid to the original payee only and by the original payment method.

If you do not turn up for your workshop, you will not be eligible for a refund nor will you be eligible to move your booking to an alternative date.

In the unlikely event that a workshop has to be cancelled by From Loft to Loved, you will be offered the choice of a full refund or the opportunity to book onto an alternative workshop. You will be given as much notice as possible if a workshop has to be cancelled.
