This workshop is perfect for anyone who has completed the beginners Introduction to Sewing workshop and is ready to extend their knowledge of more advance sewing skills
Michelle will guide you through a few techniques which will help to give your sewing a more 'professional' look once practiced:
  • Some hand stitches which are invaluable to sewing most finished garments or accessories - back stitch, running stitch, ladder stitch, herringbone stitch, flat fell stitch
  • Plain, Overedge stitched, Hong Kong, French, Corded Seams 
  •  How to make Bias Binding Tape
  •  Plain and Double pointed dart (if time allows)
At the end of the session, you will have lots of example pieces for you to take home and refer back to again and again.  We would suggest putting them in a file for you to keep with your sewing for quick reference.  
What you will need:
·        A basic understanding and experience of how to use a sewing machine.

What you will need to bring:
·        Your basic sewing kit (scissors, thread, pins or clips, hand sewing needle, vanishing pen etc)
·        Your own sewing machine (in good working order) or we can provide you with one
·        Fresh Regular sewing machine needle
·        Walking Foot for your sewing machine if you have one (optional but recommended)

All sewing machines and materials are provided. If you are wanting to take the opportunity to set up your own sewing machine at home. You can either bring your machine along with you or make sure you know the make and model so we can guide you.

All of our workshops are held in the workshop studio upstairs at From Loft to Loved, 11 The Square, Sedgefield TS21 2BN. 


Cancellation Policy

Payment for workshops must be made in full at the time of booking. If you need to cancel your booking for any reason please contact us as soon as possible, cancellation fees apply:

  • Over 21 days before the workshop date - full refund given or the opportunity to book another date
  • Between 7 and 21 days before the workshop date – no refund given, however you will have the opportunity to book another date
  • Less than 7 days before the workshop date - no refund given and no opportunity to book another date

Any refund due will be paid to the original payee only and by the original payment method.

If you do not turn up for your workshop, you will not be eligible for a refund nor will you be eligible to move your booking to an alternative date.

In the unlikely event that a workshop has to be cancelled by From Loft to Loved, you will be offered the choice of a full refund or the opportunity to book onto an alternative workshop. You will be given as much notice as possible if a workshop has to be cancelled.
